Nutty Michele Bachmann Animation on Mother Jones

Here’s this week’s animated editorial column on Mother Jones, Countdown to Iowastarring Michele Bachmann (with Palin putting in a cameo at the end).

There’s been a lot of media speculation about Bachmann entering the Iowa Caucuses lately, and what with her frequent visits there and snagging Huckabee’s top Iowa staffer, it made for some fertile cartooning ground.

All of Bachmann’s quotes in the cartoon are actual statements by her, except for mixing up Iowa and Idaho…so far she’s confined her geographical gaffes to east coast states, but give her time; she truly has mashed potatoes for brains!

Written, animated and acted by me.

  1. Thanks! Politicians must be accountable for what they say and we must be reminded of what those words are. Repeating them in this manner demonstrates truly how comical this woman appears. I am surprised good money goes in promoting such gibberish! Is there not a conservative American that doesn't have one foot in the psycho ward? Like with Trump, have you heard the sexist remarks he makes about women? And that whole reality show thing? I just dunno...the Republicans are desperate to find a candidate, but they are continually stepping in their own poo!
Makes your job guaranteed, huh? Lots of material out there!

  2. The ground is fertile indeed! I'm thinking of doing a Trump cartoon, he'd be fun to lampoon...

  3. I must confess that when I found your blog, I was recovering from an accident and had a lot of time on my hands. I found you via next blog. Seriously! I have had a narrow visioned blue collar life and was unaware of all the stuff you did. Even when I was blogging next blog and found you , I see this young girl pic and then I see that you had animations on MJ and think wow that is such an accomplishment for a young girl.
I still have narrow vision because I did not go to your side bar and see that YOU are the VERY FAMOUS artist who did the Palin series. I then watched your video.
    Your story is awesome.
I was particularly impressed on how your situation opened your eyes to the art that was in front of you NYC. I have not seen all your project, but here I go!
Also thanks for sharing the story. I am not looking for fame or money, but I have an art bud in my soul wanting so much to blossom. I paste and copy cuz I am lazy and reluctant, but I know that I have it in me to do more. A story like yours is truly inspirational.

  4. My Trump manipulation from yesterday:

If I had the talent or the connections I would love to see a skit or animation of Trump with Obama and maybe the View all in one. Obama would be wearing in his suit pocket the birth certificate sticking out enough where you see it says "Birth Certificate". It would be some topic that has nothing to do with the certificate, but Obama torments Trump by every now and then tugging on it...non nonchalantly. Maybe in the end all hell breaks loose along with Trumps hair and he loses it. Remarking on the View panel and how he has seen how they look at him and know that they are turned on by his power and money oh and charming good looks.

  5. Ha! Your Trump picture is very fun and I like your idea!

I'm very happy that you found my blog, though I'd have to argue the famous thing! And I find it very inspirational that you're nurturing your art bud -- keep going! It'll soon be an unruly vine bearing fruit.

  6. Thanks for your responses! It is actually better than the time I went to a Stevie Nicks concert and saw her make eye contact with me (I was on the edge of the stage with a friend) I lipped out the words "Thank you" and she lipped back "You're welcome"!lol
I did see your "Overseen NY" and heading out to Barnes and Noble soon to see the rest! It was an incredible idea to be looking around at people in motion and actually asking them "what is it you are doing and why". You gotta ask or never know. You really saw and revealed some interesting folk.
Can't wait to see another project pop up from you! I am so so curious who that illustrator was that got a spark in you! LOL

  7. Yeah, that illustrator deserves a lot of credit for pissing me off so much that it got me going on doing my own projects. I owe him big time!

By the way, you won't be able to buy Overlooked New York at Barnes and Noble, you can only get it on Amazon. I saw the neatest guy on the street the other day, he was pushing a handtruck with all these superhero action figures taped to it and he was wearing a crazy superhero t shirt and messenger bag and had a bandana around his head and looked somewhat tough and bulky, a little like The Hulk.

I sped up to get alongside him and I said I liked his handtruck lots and he was so pleased and he said, yeah, he pimped it out good and then I commented on how nicely his shirt and bag went with the handtruck and he seemed even more pleased. People love to have their passions appreciated -- I know I do!! Well, he was going to a delivery job and I had an appt so we had to part ways. I'd have loved to have painted him. I wish I'd gotten his contact info. Maybe I'll see him again up in midtown.
