Animation: The Same Bush League Animation

Republicans are back in the House and Bush is back in the news: Watch my sing-a-long animation on Mother Jones...

One of the things I'm really digging about doing these is doing the music. I borrowed a guitar from my neighbor to try to make the melodies a little more...ummmm....sophisticated! Ha!

Heres a link to the cartoon on Mother Jones; join in the chorus!

And here's a link to the hi res version on my own site
Written, animated and acted by me.

  1. That could be a hit! Very catchy!

It's amazing following your artistic trajectory: from portraits to political/conceptual to wood cut to animation and music!

You are a powerhouse, a diversified powerhouse.

  2. You think so, JD? Thanks!! And a hit? That's really nice coming from a musician like yourself, though I think you're just being overly kind!

  3. This animation is definitely not "bush-league", Zina. It's totally cool and entertaining! Your song and singing makes a strong political point while being fun and charming. You layer the sounds in the song the way you layer your pictures. I listened to the music several times so I could pick up the voices in the background. I always thought you had to be multiple people to do everything that you do. Now I'm convinced!

  5. Thanks, Larry and Nick.

I always really appreciate your comments, Nick, especially and particularly when you disagree -- I feel that I have my say in my cartoon, and you should have your say back!

Hey, are you on facebook? Friend me, and then you can see the link to my newest cartoon on Mother Jones -- I wonder what you'll say to that one!
